A busy social life can lead to bad skin habits like forgetting to remove your makeup before going to bed. When skin is clogged with makeup, dirt and bacteria, oil begins to accumulate, and that causes each pore diameter to expand and these open pores lead to blackheads. So, blackheads are nothing but accumulation of dirt in these large open pores. The aim of pore reduction is to lessen the area of the pores so that the pore shrinks quickly to look like normal skin.
The following are easy homemade treatments that not only save time and money but are also natural.
1 tbsp lemon juice
Egg whites give your face a healthy glow and diminish the look of fine lines. It tightens your skin and acts as a short term face lift while reducing the skin pores. It also removes dead skin cells. Lemon juice contains enzymes that tighten and firm the face while also purifying and brightening the skin. It has the ability to cleanse and shrink the appearance of pores.
Cleanse your face thoroughly with like warm water before applying the mask. Washing face with warm water will open up all the pores so that the mask deep cleanses from deep inside the skin. Apply it until it completely dries out, which usually takes around 15-20 minutes. Rinse with cold water to clog the pores.
Tomatoes – the fruity way
Tomatoes have natural toning agents in them which help to minimise pores. Cut tomato into two half’s. Rub one half of it onto face before going to bed to tighten the pores. Using it regularly, over time may show considerable results or you can even dip cotton ball in tomato juice and apply it on face. Leave it on for 5 minutes. Leaving it for prolonged may cause irritation on face. So, wash it after 5 minutes.
Grounded oats scrub
1 tbsp Ground oats
1 tbsp honey
Make a paste of yogurt, honey and oats. Apply on face. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash off face with cold water whilst massaging and rubbing the mixture delicately from your face. Oats act as a natural exfoliate to clear the pores of dust and bacteria and the lactic acid in yogurt dissolves impurities in pores and tightens them. Honey is known for its moisturization properties. Use this scrub once or twice a week.
Tip: Avoid over washing your face as it may dry out your face and pores will produce more oil to compensate and therefore expand in size which in turn will lead to blackheads and blemishes. Washing your face twice a day is sufficient. You don’t necessarily need to wash face every time with facial foam. Try skipping it and instead, just rinse face with water. Using plain yogurt as a substitute of face wash shows incredible results on skin.
